Crowdsourcing

Crowdsourcing.jpg

Crowdsourcing is the process of getting work or funding, usually online, from a crowd of people. The word is a combination of the words 'crowd' and 'outsourcing'. The idea is to take work and outsource it to a crowd of workers.

Crowdsourcing in BC

The BC New Media Wiki is a perfect example of how teachers use crowdsourcing in the classroom. Another example of crowdsourcing in Brooklyn College would be the t-shirt contest held every year before the Fall semester. Students are asked to create their own design and the best design is placed on the t-shirts that Brooklyn College hands out at their athletic events.
