Economics

Economics is the science that deals with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services, or the material welfare of humankind. It studies scarcity, how people use resources, and decision-making. Often involving topics like wealth, finance, recession, and banks, there is a common misconception that economics solely concerns money and the stock market. In fact, the study encompasses many topics that help us understand historical trends, interpret today's headlines, and make decisions for coming decades.

New Media and Economics

New Media and Economics are more closely related than most people think. Even seemingly unrelated principles like the stock market have an intricate relationship with the media and the way we are given information.

Cyber Monday

After everyone has their turkey and stuffing on Thanksgiving and after everyone tears each other limb from limb trying to buy a 65 inch television for $15 comes Cyber Monday closing in on being one of the biggest shopping days of the year. Cyber Monday is the Monday after thanksgiving is a marketing term to describe the great deals companies provide on this day. Similar to Black Friday, Cyber Monday is used my stores to sell massive amounts of inventory for the holiday season. Black Friday sis named because it is suppose to be the time of the year in which companies go from in the red or losing money to in the black or asking money. Cyber Monday is similar in the companies use it to cater to the same discount seeking audience. The difference is you don't need to travel to brick and mortar stores risking your life to seek these deals , rather you can do it from the comfort of your own home. Cyber monday is quickly catching up to black friday in amount fo sales and I wouldn't be surprised in the coming year if it surpasses black friday.
