Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games
Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPG) are known today as video games where players can live a life in a fantasy with tens of thousands of players in real time. People can socialize, raid dungeons, build houses, scavenge materials, and conduct many other activities with other people through player-created online avatars. Like the traditional Role Playing Game (RPG), the player assumes a avatar that travels through a virtual world inhabited by many non-player characters (NPCs), and the player could be on a quest to save the world or banish the darkness. The traditional RPG may take a player anywhere between ten to twenty hours to finish. Meanwhile MMORPGs may never have a end game for their players. Many MMORPGs are known to be a time sink for people. The time sink involves people progressing through the game through challenging difficult dungeons or bosses to obtain better equipment. Once players finish the current content, developers have the ability to add even more content, which could be even more challenging and rewarding, to keep players playing their game.

History
Multi User Dungeons
MMORPGs are known to have been based off Multi User Dungeons (MUD). MUDs were a text based game where many players could interact in a fantasy land that was interpreted through text only. Visuals were just text in different colors and people interacted with each other and with the world through text-based commands. MUDs can technically be considered the first coming of an MMORPG. The only difference that MUDs and MMORPGs have is that MMORPGs generally have a lush world that players can interact with. The world can be a 2D or 3D game that the player can see and react to.

One of the biggest charms to MMORPGs is the character creation. The ability to freely design one's character is what draws players to a game. For example, when a player first login to a new MMORPG, they can spend hours upon hours customizing their character to their liking.

Game developers add sliders and complete color palette to their character creation page which would then allow the user to modify the base player model as much as they like.

One of the biggest goals that people have while playing MMORPGs is to improve their gear as much as possible. Game developers promote this idea by giving players access to equipment that look more aesthetically pleasing as well as providing the player with stronger equipment. Players can progress and improve their equipment by following a the MMORPG's storyline or by raiding hard dungeons to obtain better equipment or materials to create better equipment.

There is a term that MMORPG players coin: farming. Farming is when a player continuously does the same content over and over again in order to obtain materials or the hard to obtain equipment that they are hunting for. This is one way that developers can keep their players while making revenue.

Instance Dungeons
In early MMORPGs, only a handful of people could be in a dungeon one at a time. This flawed implementation was best shown in a MMORPG named MapleStory. MapleStory has multiplayer content called Party Quests, and only one party at a time could enter the dungeon and clear the quest. Many modern MMORPGs solve this problem by creating an instance of the dungeon for every party that wants to challenge the dungeon. This allows everybody to play the dungeon whenever they want without fighting with potentially hundreds of other party leaders trying to get their party into the one instance.

Dungeons are known to have challenging monsters and bosses for the players to beat and kill. The goal of these dungeons is to clear every challenge that the developers throw at you. Players challenge these dungeons in order to progress with the storyline, gain experience points to level up their character, gain the prestige of beating the dungeon, and acquire even better equipment.

Instance dungeons usually allow only a party of its maximum size (which varies from game to game) to participate in the dungeon run. But there are larger iterations of instance dungeons called raids, which allow more than one party to participate in the dungeon. These larger dungeons require more players in order to keep up with the difficulty of the dungeon, which can come in the form of even larger hordes of monsters and bigger, stronger, and badder bosses. Raids are known to be harder than regular instance dungeons, but the harder the content, the more rewarding the loot will be.

What Are Mobile Apps?
A mobile app is a software application that is developed to be used on smartphones and tablets rather than on desktop computers and laptops. These mobile apps are usually purchased or downloaded in the app store. However, some apps come built into the phone such as messages, mail, safari, weather, and camera. The use of mobile apps has become extremely popular, especially because most people today use smartphones and tablets.
Mobile apps relate to new media because they are meant for people with smartphones and tables around the world to use. Some mobile apps allow people to communicate with others, play games with others, and some allow people to post pictures and videos for others to see. The social media apps include Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram. Other mobile apps allow people to shop from their favorite stores or use apps that give coupons for those stores such as RetailMeNot. Other common apps include those that allow people to search for and listen to music such as Pandora and Spotify. Mobile Apps are a modern and technological way for mass communication.

Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts App
Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts has created an mobile app that allows customers to pay for their food or drink using their only their smartphone. Rather than traditionally paying with cash or a credit card, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts has changed the game with their mobile apps. Customers are able to link their mobile app account with their credit or debit card and transfer money to their account. When it is time for the customer to order their food or drink, the cashier can scan a barcode on the customer's phone and the order is paid for. It is much easier and more modern for the customers to pay with their phones rather than with cash.

Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts have also made the app more interesting for their customers because they offer rewards. The Starbucks app gives its users 2 stars for every dollar they spend in the store, while Dunkin Donuts gives 1 point for every dollar spent. When the customer reaches 125 stars they receive a free drink or food at Starbucks. When the customer reaches 200 points at Dunkin Donuts, they also receive a free food or drink. These rewards are only offered to those who use the mobile app to pay for their order.

Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts have also created a feature that allows its customers to order their drink or food through the app and then pick it up in the store. The apps connect to the GPS on the customer's phone and tells the customer which stores are nearby. Both apps contain a full menu for the customer to browse through before they make their order. The customers can also customize their drinks through the app by selecting which size drink they want, if they want any sugar or milk, etc. This is a great feature because if the customer is in a rush, he or she doesn't have to wait in line and will have their order ready by the time they get to the store.

Shopping Apps
Many stores have expanded their businesses by creating mobile apps for smartphones and tablets. Rather than just having a web site for users to shop on, most businesses have mobile apps where customers can browse the items and purchase an order. Some stores that have created mobile apps are Nordstrom, Best Buy, Sephora, and Macy's. Some websites that solely provide business online have also created mobile applications, such as Amazon. Since many people use their smartphones and tablets more than their desktops and laptops, it is a good idea for more businesses to create mobile apps for people to download and purchase.

Banking and Credit Card Apps
With the development of mobile apps, people can now keep track of their finances on their smartphones or tablets. Many banks and credit

card companies have created mobile apps that allow people to connect their cards and accounts to the apps in order to do their banking.

Some of these apps include Chase, American Express, Santander, and Discover. The banking apps allow users to pay bills

and credit cards, transfer money between accounts, make deposits, and balance out their transactions. Credit cards company

apps such as American Express and Discover

allow users to see the purchases they made, see how much money they have left to spend,

see credit score, and see when the billing cycle is up. These apps also offer rewards for

loyal customers who pay their bills on time. Rather than having all statements on paper, the app

allows people to use their smartphones and tablets to check their finances technologically.

Social Media Apps
Social media apps are very popular amongst a majority of smartphone and tablet owners today. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat are used by a massive number of people all over the world. These apps allow people to share pictures, videos, and commentary with other people that they follow.

Facebook allows you to set up a profile and become friends with other people. You are able to post pictures and statuses, as well

as share your friend's pictures. You can also "like" and comment on your friend's pictures and statuses. It is also used by

many corporations to advertise their business. You can also message people to have a private conversation.

Facebook also enables people to create pages for people that have similar interests.

Twitter is another social networking site which allows you to set up an account. You can follow other

people and other people can follow you. You are able to tweet but are only limited to 140 characters.

You can also post pictures and your followers could retweet, like, or reply to your tweet. Like Facebook, you are

able to message people privately. On Twitter, most people communicate through hashtags.

Instagram is a social networking site that only allows users to post pictures. Like Twitter, Instagram allows

you tofollow people and have followers. You could like and comment on other people's pictures. You could also tag

other people in your pictures. Instagram also connects with location services on the iPhone and allows users to post

where their picture was taken. There is also a popular page on Instagram that allows users to see other people's pictures

that have gotten a lot of likes. Like Facebook and Twitter, Instagram allows it's users to message each other privately.

Snapchat is a social networking site that allows its users to send pictures and videos to other ‎

for a maximum 10 seconds and then deletes. Your snapchat friends post "stories" which consists

of pictures or videos over the past 24 hours.

Snapchat also allows you to use filters which could effect the pictures and videos. You could send pictures and

videos to people directly. These social media apps are a way for mass communication through smartphones and tablets.

Traveling Apps
Many people who live in busy cities such as New York may need to depend on the MTA for transportation. There are apps for both the subway and bus. These apps help commuters see the bus or train routes and let them know where the stops are. They also help commuters that have to transfer to a different train or bus. These apps also make the commuter aware of when the bus or train is going to pass and how long it would take to reach the destination. These apps are extremely helpful when traveling because people have all the information on their smartphone or tablet.

Development
Mobile application development can be achieved through programming.
Android Development
Android applications can be coded through Google's Android Development Kit, which mainly focuses on Java based development. Applications can be tested on an emulator provided by the development kit or on an Android phone.

iOS Development
iOS applications can be coded through Apple's custom language: Swift. Swift is basically a customized version of C and Objective C. Developers who are familiar with either programming languages will be able to code iOS applications. Developers can also code through Apple's custom IDE: XCode.

Love is a beautiful monster!

Definition of Love
Love is defined as a strong or constant affection for a person. Love can cause a variation of many different attitudes and stages that range from affection to pleasure. Besides being referenced to as an emotion of strong attraction or person attachment, love can represent kindness and compassion. Many people interpret love as a function that drives the continuation of any given species. Love is also defined as a deep feeling of sexual desire and attraction and/or sexual activities (often including sexual intercourse) between two people.

Scientifically, the feeling of love is a chemical reaction that compels two people to breed.

Benefits of Love
Companionship
That "Alive" feeling.

Having a person that loves you for who you truly are can cause years of happiness. Your mind, body and soul will not grow old and lonely. Love is beyond what people define it to be for the fact that love does not hurt nor does it see. People hurt others and people are blinded by ones action, Love is the glue that holds companions together. It is not loves fault that people fall victim to temptation. Love is a bond, connection and a positive experience when you find your match, your soul mate and your one in a million. It takes two strong minds to become one.-Jasmine Moctezuma

Negative Aspects of Love
Pain
Love can hurt more than it could ever feel good, which is why I question "why love at all?"

Equipment Progression

[[File:TERA_chandra.jpg|thumb|right| Chandra Manaya Instance Dungeon from TERA. Five party members engaging the final boss of the dungeon.]]
